Students from Muizenberg Campus decided to focus on abandoned animals this year. The SRC began promoting a pet food drive on campus by displaying posters on the notice boards as well as in classrooms. They also appealed to local businesses through donation letters asking for pet food donations which they would handover to TEARS on Mandela Day. The students also received a substantial donation from Pick and Pay with which they’ve purchased large bags of dog food. Three SRC members and four staff members visited the local TEARS kennels in Kommetjie and handed over the food donations and proceeded to spend their 67 minutes touring the kennels and feeding and caring for the animals.
