MOT South Africa’s 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM)

On Monday, 23 June 2014, MOT SA held its 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) hosted and sponsored by Old Mutual and Tsebo/Fedics. The AGM was held at the Old Mutual Auditorium, Jan Smuts Drive, Pinelands and was attended by 77 members including community members, representatives from the Department of Social Development, Abe Bailey Trust, HCI Foundation, EPM projects, Khulisa Social Solutions, DHET, Oceana Group Limited, W&RSETA Western Cape, Pioneer Foods, TowerStone – Global, DGMT, Catalyx, AfriSam, National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), RSM Betty & Dickson – Cape Town, TVET Colleges, School principals and teachers as well as MOT presenters, learners and students.

The guests were entertained by the beautiful voice of Portia Ntobane, one of the MOT Youth at West Coast College, Vredenburg Campus, who performed the song Ave Maria. Three MOT Youth, Linamandla Deliwe (False Bay College); Thembakazi Dick (College of Cape Town) and Welcome Jansen (West Coast College) gave testimonies on the impact the MOT programme has on their lives. They reflected and shared what they have learned and gained from the MOT Youth Camp and how it has transformed which was held from 9 – 11 May 2014 and how it has transformed their lives, empowered them and boosted their self-confidence and courage. Keynote speaker and MOT SA Brand Ambassador, Sibongile Manganyi, shared her life’s journey with the youth and delegates. She spoke about her humble and cultured childhood and the hardships she had faced. Sibongile is proud to be part of MOT SA because she believes in the values of MOT.
