|MOT has been inspirational and helpful and also allowed me to think about myself and others. It has boosted my self-confidence and self- esteem, and I always felt better after a session. I suggest that MOT should be given at high schools to teenagers who are struggling with their identity and peer, social, emotional and domestic pressure. It would benefit them because prevention is better than cure.

|My experience with MOT was very interesting and exciting. I actually couldn’t wait for the next session. For every MOT session we got, we would learn something new. The MOT sessions brought us as a class closer together, especially with activities where we had to work in groups. MOT also boosted my self-confidence and helped me to decide who and what I want to be in life.Tasneen van Neel, ECD student, College of Cape Town, Gardens campus||MOT INSPIRED ME! I really enjoyed MOT as it created a platform in which I could relate to peers and to speak about things that exist, but we never speak about. My desire is to one day be a Primary school principal, and MOT has inspired me to take care of my people’s personal and social well-being. |Often a person forgets how powerful words are, and how what you say can have a negative or positive impact on people. I’ve learnt that being positive and saying positive things, go a lot further than negative thoughts. It has been a valuable experience and definitely a learning curve that reminds you to always stay positive and focussed during times of stress and obstacles that life throws at you. I’ve learnt that every small difference you make is a difference made. Always treat people like you want to be treated, and always remember that life doesn’t always work out the way we planned, but positive attitudes makes the experience that much easier. Sandy Coetzee, ECD student, College of Cape Town, Gardens campus||Being in a surrounding I wasn’t really adapted to – I started opening up. It all started in the MOT classes which took place every second Monday. Every second Monday didn’t seem like a boring dragged out day for me. To discover yourself, inner beauty, build trust and confidence in yourself were my utmost goals above all the other things that were being taught. To get to know and accept yourself is totally different to what other people see daily. First and foremost you need to accept yourself first as an individual, and I can truly say that the MOT classes totally made me feel comfortable with myself as a person and allowed me to get out of my “comfort zone” – which I’ve been in for many years. I was able to express what I feel whenever and in whichever way possible. There were many activities and moments in the MOT class that stood out for me and which I will treasure for the rest of my life. The MOT classes opened up new and wonderful ways to express myself.
