Leading short-term insurer, Santam, hosted three Norwegian Cape Epic mountain bike teams at their head office on 19 March 2009 to launch MOT South Africa. The cyclists represented MOT South Africa in the Cape Epic mountain bike challenge from 21 to 28 March 2009.
The Norwegian word “mot” means “courage” in English. The life-skills training programme was started in Norway twelve years ago and is now being rolled out in South Africa targeting youth in the FET Colleges in the Western Cape.
The aim of MOT South Africa, a Public Benefit Organisation, is to create a significant impact on the development of the youth of South Africa by empowering them to make the right choices for themselves and to develop the courage to take good care of themselves and others.
