National Lotteries Commission (NLC)

National Lotteries Commission (NLC)

The most widely known role of the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) is its funding of non-profit organisations that play a role in the development of our society. Members of the NLC share the public perception that this contribution to the development of our nation is the heart of the Commission’s work and it gives depth of meaning to all other activities. The NLC balances the desire to help valuable and inspiring initiatives and ensures that all monies allocated by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) are put to good use. The NLDTF allocate grants to organisations working in the following three sectors:

  • Arts, culture and national heritage
  • Charities
  • Sport and recreation

Pioneer Foods Education and Community Trust

Pioneer Foods Education and Community Trust

Pioneer Foods, one of Africa’s leading FMCG companies with globally trusted brands, has established an independent education and community trust as part of its broad based black economic empowerment initiatives. The Trust focuses on education initiatives and aims to uplift communities in the immediate surrounding areas of Pioneer Foods subsidiaries throughout South Africa. The PFECT Trust contributes towards buildings, equipment and programmes for public schools as well as educational institutions. The Trust also launched its national bursary programme in March 2014.

There are not many households in South Africa without at least one Pioneer Foods product. Our cereals, dried fruit, bread and rolls as well as baking products and juice are familiar names in kitchens across South Africa. Whether consumers are purchasing Sasko bread or Quick Treats, Safari dried fruit, Ceres juice, Bokomo Weetbix or Moir’s cake mix, Pioneer Foods is undoubtedly a staple in many South African homes.
