Celebrating Global Dignity Month

Hundreds of thousands will be celebrating Global Dignity day on 21 October all around the world, which is celebrated annually and organized by international non-profit Global Dignity.

What is Global Dignity Day?

Dignity Day is a day which inspires many to make a positive impact on themselves and others, by recognizing their self-worth, recognizing their dignity and the courage to care by looking beyond what divides us and not only on the day, but every day!

By allowing dignity, and our core values – Courage to Care, Courage to Live and Courage to Say No to be a guiding principle for our actions, we can all contribute to a warmer and safer place.

German politician, Angela Merkel shares: “When it comes to human dignity, we cannot make compromises”.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu said: “The spirit of Ubuntu is very difficult to render into Western language. It speaks of the very essence of being human. You are generous, caring and compassionate. It means that my humanity is bound up in yours, and embodies the ideas of community, connection, caring and kindness.”

Use this day to reflect on the day’s meaning and partake where you see a need. Perhaps there’s someone that needs an extra dose of kindness? Perhaps that person is you that needs that kindness, too? Be kind and care for yourself and others. Why not write down your aspirations and goals for the year ahead or do a collage, the ideas are endless!

We hope that you are inspired to partake in this day as we are!

Be sure to keep us updated with what you get up to and don’t forget to tag us too!
