We are proud to welcome a new cohort of MOT Coaches from the Positive Behaviour Intervention & Resource Centre (PBIRC), who have successfully completed the MOT Coaches Basic Education programme.

This training, supported by the Western Cape Education Department and sponsored by PBIRC, equips educators and youth practitioners with the tools to empower young people through MOT’s life-skills methodology. It focuses on building courage, resilience, self-respect, and positive decision-making among learners.

A Strong Start to the Year

The training kicked off with great energy, meaningful engagement, and powerful reflections from participants. The importance of creating safe, supportive spaces for young people to explore their values, goals, and life choices was highlighted. Coaches actively participated in discussions, activities, and self-reflection, demonstrating their commitment to personal growth and youth development.

Feedback from the group reflected a shared sense of purpose and enthusiasm to bring MOT’s message into their facilitation and within the communities.

Empowering Youth Through Life Skills

MOT Coaches play a vital role in shaping positive behaviour, strengthening emotional resilience, and encouraging young people to make conscious, responsible choices. Through the MOT programme, learners are guided to develop:

  • Self-awareness and confidence
  • Respect for themselves and others
  • Healthy decision-making skills
  • A sense of responsibility and leadership

With their training complete, the PBIRC Coaches are now ready to implement MOT sessions that support youth in navigating challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

Looking Ahead
