Exciting Conversations in Nairobi, Kenya

Viola and Brian Kenya visit

MOT SA Country Director Viola Manuel, together with Brian Dalton, MOT SA Master, recently spent time in Nairobi, Kenya, engaging with local partners and stakeholders as part of an exploratory visit focused on learning, connection and future possibilities.

During the visit, they met with a range of stakeholders across education, civil society and the public sector. These conversations offered valuable insight into the local context and the realities facing young people, while also creating space for open dialogue around youth development, leadership and support structures. The engagements were marked by genuine interest, thoughtful conversation and a shared commitment to addressing challenges impacting young people.

The time spent in Nairobi proved to be both meaningful and encouraging. There was strong appreciation for the structured nature of the MOT Programme and the way in which it creates space for growth, reflection and agency among youth. Just as importantly, there was a clear sense of willingness from local stakeholders to continue the conversation and explore what collaboration could look like going forward.

While this visit was very much about listening and learning, it laid the groundwork for something promising. There is a feeling that something exciting is quietly building, and as discussions continue and ideas take shape, more will be shared in time.

For now, this marks an early chapter in a journey worth watching, so stay tuned!
