MOT South Africa Partners with the City of Cape Town for Voices of Courage 2026

MOT South Africa is proud to announce the return of Voices of Courage 2026, taking place on Youth Day, 16 June 2026, at the City of Cape Town Civic Centre. Hosted in partnership with the City of Cape Town and the Junior City Council (JCC), the programme continues to create meaningful spaces where young people are empowered to grow in courage, leadership, and purpose.

Since its launch in 2024 in partnership with Tyger Valley Shopping Centre, Voices of Courage has continued to grow into a powerful youth initiative focused on equipping learners with practical life skills, positive values, and the confidence to make responsible decisions.

Last year’s programme, hosted at the City of Cape Town, focused on The Courage to Take Opportunities and The Courage to Say Yes to Opportunities. Learners were encouraged to recognise opportunities around them, step out of their comfort zones, and engage with inspiring role models who shared their personal journeys and leadership experiences.

Building on that momentum, this year’s Voices of Courage programme will focus on the importance of values and the role they play in shaping young people’s choices, relationships, and future paths.

The 2026 programme aims to:

  • Help learners identify and understand their personal values
  • Empower them with the courage to live out those values consistently
  • Encourage the courage to care for themselves, their peers, and their communities
  • Develop the courage to say no to harmful influences, risky behaviour, and negative peer pressure
  • Strengthen resilience, leadership, and responsible decision-making

The event will include a screening of the documentary Ashley Kriel: Action Commandant, followed by facilitated conversations and panel discussions featuring role models and leaders who will engage learners on topics affecting young people today.

More than just an event, Voices of Courage is a movement that encourages young people to reflect on who they are, what they stand for, and how they can positively influence the world around them. By creating spaces for honest conversation and meaningful engagement, the initiative continues to inspire learners to lead with courage, compassion, and integrity.

Through this ongoing partnership, MOT South Africa, the City of Cape Town, and the Junior City Council remain committed to investing in the next generation of leaders and helping young people discover the courage to make positive choices for themselves and their communities.
