New Partnership Between MOT South Africa and the Rotary Club of Wynberg

We are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership between the Rotary Club of Wynberg and MOT South Africa with the launch of the Courage to Care – MOT as a Society Builder project.

This impactful initiative aims to empower young people with the courage to care for others, to live positive and responsible lives, and to confidently say no to violence, harassment, drug abuse, gangsterism, and crime. Through the MOT programme, the project focuses on peacebuilding and conflict prevention, while supporting youth leadership and helping to create safer learning and community environments.

Institutions Taking Part in the Project

The MOT programme will be implemented at the following colleges and school in Cape Town:

  • False Bay College – Khayelitsha Campus
  • College of Cape Town – Gugulethu Campus
  • Sibelius High School

These institutions will participate in a structured, long‑term programme aimed at supporting students, educators, parents, and local stakeholders.

What Is the MOT Programme?

MOT is an international life‑skills programme that works with young people to build strong values and positive behaviour. The programme focuses on three core principles:

  • Courage to Live – helping young people believe in themselves and make positive choices
  • Courage to Care – encouraging respect, empathy, and responsibility towards others
  • Courage to Say No – supporting young people to stand up against negative pressure, drug abuse, and harmful behaviour

The programme is delivered through interactive sessions such as group discussions, practical activities, and reflection, allowing learners to develop confidence, self‑respect, and leadership skills.

What This Means for the Colleges and School

Through this partnership, educators, students, parents, and community stakeholders will receive training and support to help build positive school cultures and safer environments. The project is designed to address challenges faced by young people both at school and in their surrounding communities.

The project officially starts in June 2026 and will run over a sustained period to ensure long‑term impact and measurable outcomes.

Join Us for the Project Launch

An official launch event for the project will take place on Thursday, 28 May 2026. Stakeholders and partners will be introduced to the project goals and the positive change this initiative aims to bring to the participating institutions and surrounding communities.

We are incredibly excited to be partnered with The Rotary Club of Wynberg on this meaningful project and looks forward to the difference it will make in the lives of young people.
