MOT SA Empowers Youth with Life Skills at JP21 Foundation

JP21 Foundation collaborated with MOT South Africa to provide learners with a 4-day MOT programme during their Holiday Clinic at Hyacinth Primary School, Mitchell’s Plain from 3  – 6 April 2023.

The MOT programme focused on life skills engagement, covering themes such as team building, managing peer pressure, MOTivation, and anti-bullying. Our Super MOT coaches, Marlon van Diemen, Cheslyn Rippenaar and Nocwana Makha facilitated the MOT sessions, which encouraged learners to share their experiences and learn from their peers.

A total of thirty young learners from surrounding schools in the Western Cape areas of Mitchells Plain and Strandfontein participated in the MOT programme. During the interactive and engaging sessions, the learners were encouraged to share their experiences and learn from their peers. Feedback from the learners who participated in the programme was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the life skills sessions as particularly beneficial.

The collaboration between JP21 and MOT is a powerful example of how sports and life skills can be used to empower youth and promote positive social change. By providing learners with the skills to manage peer pressure, build resilience, and stay motivated, they can be better equipped to face the challenges that lie ahead.

More about the JP21 Foundation’s Holiday Clinic

The JP21 Foundation was founded in 2015 by JP Duminy, a former South African cricketer and a MOT Brand Ambassador. The Foundation’s Holiday Clinic programme provides learners with the opportunity to participate in cricket activities and life skills engagement. The foundation has a long-term goal of reigniting the passion for cricket in underprivileged communities and schools, promoting a positive and healthy lifestyle, and providing learners with the opportunity to have fun while playing cricket.
