Top 3 Are Hovstad Award Finalists!

Top 3 finalists for Are Hovstad Award
The Are Hovstad Award was initiated in 2018 to pay tribute to Are Hovstad for the establishment of MOT in South Africa, his contribution and support of MOT, and his love for the betterment of the youth in South Africa!

Are was a founding member of MOT South Africa. He lived the values of MOT. Therefore, the MOT SA board initiated the annual award to honour him and recognize others who have demonstrated and lived the MOT spirit and commitment to the betterment of their community during the year.

Meet your Top 3 Finalists for the Are Hovstad Award:

1. Lynnsay Jones – Lynnsay has partnered with MOT SA in her capacity as Trust Administrator of the Lombardi Family Charitable Trust and the Abe Bailey Trust. Lynnsay is responsible for the administration of several Charitable Trusts.

Lynnsay Jones is a versatile, strategic and results-driven professional with a broad skill set. She is an Attorney by profession with 8 years of working experience in the Legal and Financial Services sector. Lynnsay is a proud graduate of the University of the Western Cape with diverse interests in law and serving humanity.

2. Terence Klassen: I am the Principal of Fairmount Secondary School for the past 22 years. In 2006 I was invited by Odd Henning Johannesen to attend the MOT Workshop at Northlink College. The MOT Programme was introduced to South African colleges and was being translated from Norwegian. Fairmount was the only Secondary school invited to the presentation. I was taken in by the philosophy and immediately saw the value it could add to my students. I was hooked. I introduced aspects of the program to my Matriculates, with much success. I promoted the programme with our staff and soon we had a team of 12 educators willing to become facilitators and pioneer the MOT programme once they were qualified. I am proud of what MOT has grown into and what it will be!

3. Marlyn – Lee is a MOT Alumni, Young MOTivator and MOT Coach. He volunteers and participates in the formal MOT SA camps and events where he is a valuable contributor.

Marlyn is employed at a large call centre and he uses MOT Games to encourage and inspire his colleagues and through this engages them in talking about the MOT values.

We are truly proud of our Top 3 finalists and will be crowning our next Are Hovstad winner at our MOT Enthusiasts’ Gathering on 27 May 2022!
