On Friday, March 23, 39 MOT Coaches gathered at the College of Cape Town’s Crawford Campus for the year’s first MOT Coaches’ Implementation Review and Refresher Workshop.

Being a MOT Coach requires you to be P-YIS – Passionate, Youthful, Innovative, and Sincere, which our MOT Coaches possess. These characteristics enable them to develop resilient and inclusive youth. This is essential to creating active citizens, role models, and leaders.

The importance of mental health was also emphasized during the workshop. The youth face various challenges, and the MOT programme acknowledges the importance of mental health in helping them overcome these challenges. The MOT Coaches were reminded to provide a safe and supportive space for the youth to share their thoughts and feelings.

MOT Coaches were reminded about the positive role they play in the lives of the youth they serve and were encouraged to continue to provide guidance and support to the youth to help them develop positive coping mechanisms and become mentally healthy individuals. By emphasizing the importance of mental health, the MOT programme aims to create a holistic approach to empowering the youth and developing active citizens, role models, and leaders.

The passion and energy displayed by our MOT Coaches give us hope in bringing out the potential of the youth. We are excited about the future and confident that our MOT Coaches will continue to inspire and motivate the youth they serve.
